As an advisor, principal and operator of early-stage and middle-market growth companies for 16 years, Maris has specialized in creating successful combinations of entrepreneurs, ideas and capital. Before joining Westbury, he co-founded Tactical Solutions Partners, a homeland security technology firm where he was a board member and VP of Corporate Development. His duties there included an equity raise to fuel sales growth tripling in two years. Prior to Tactical, he co-founded Patron Systems, an IT security solutions company built through acquisition. As Patron's Senior Director of Corporate Development, he raised debt and equity used to acquire three companies. Earlier, Maris was VP of Mergers and Acquisitions for Cook Associates, a boutique M&A advisory services firm in Chicago serving private equity groups. There he participated on deal teams that closed over 40 middle-market M&A transactions and developed CEOVisions, an innovative program that partnered entrepreneurial Fortune 1000 C level executives with private equity groups and attracted $500 million in equity commitments. He began his career in personal and commercial banking with Wells Fargo Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada.

Maris earned a BA in Management Economics from the University of Guelph and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. He holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.
