Over the past 20 years, Alan has established a successful track record of building and managing profitable growth companies. Most recently, he has been the CEO of ABV of Florida, LLC, helping entrepreneurs to buy and sell businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, Alan was the owner and CEO of Carter Group of Virginia, Inc. which owned 8 franchised Sylvan Learning Centers throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland. From 1990 to 1996, he increased revenues 500% and successfully sold the business. Earlier, Alan was the Executive Vice President, European Operations for Weight Watchers International (wholly owned by Heinz Corp.) where he had full P & L responsibility for the European continent, growing annual revenues 125% to more than $100 million while increasing profits 200% to more than $18 million annually.

Alan holds a MSc. in Engineering Production and a Bsc. in Mechanical Engineering from Birmingham University in Birmingham, England. In addition, he holds a certified diploma in accounting and finance from the Institute of Accounting and Finance in London, England. Alan is located in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
